Our process ensures that branding your business is one less thing you need to worry about. I’ll take you behind the scenes to look into the steps I take to build a conscious brand so you can feel confident that your brand will be heading in the right direction.

Step One: Discovery & Strategy

To get started I'll send you an online questionnaire to fill out. In this questionnaire, we'll be thinking about your business goals, your audience, how you want to make them feel, and all the things that will set your business apart from the rest. Together, we will form a strategy about how best to communicate your message and connect with your audience.

Branding is an emotional experience. The emotional connection that a person has with a brand leads them to buy your products or services and over time build brand loyalty. Therefore, it is so important to be clear on who you want to connect with and how. This is the most crucial part of the brand identity process because it will set up the foundation to design a brand that connects to your ideal customer.

Step 2: Creative Direction, Inspiration & Exploration

This is my favourite part. In this stage I explore a vast range of ideas and concepts. I conduct thorough research and really start to get a feel for the visual direction for the brand. I present you with some mood boards, concepts and ideas. Basically, this step helps us make sure we're on the same page before I start sketching logo ideas.

Step 3: First Concepts

I'll present my 2/3 strongest concepts for the logo, each one highlighting a different aspect of your business. From here, we'll narrow it down to the concept that feels right and would connect the most with your audience.

Step 4: Refined Concepts

At this stage, I'll present refined versions of the concept that you chose and dive deeper to explore how this concept would work in real life. If we still need to make refinements, we can. Otherwise, we'll select the final direction to move forward with.

Step 5: Collateral

Finally, we'll create any marketing material or branded collateral pieces that you have chosen to include in your project. The could be business cards, business stationery such as letterheads, invoices, email signatures, packaging, signage or uniforms. If you need collateral pieces to be editable, I will create them as templates that you can use again and again. And if you need help communicating with printers for printed collateral, I'm happy to do that for you as well.

Step 6: Final Brand Style Guide

Now that we have our final direction, I'll put everything together in a detailed guide on how to use your brand consistently, intentionally, and strategically. At the end of the process, you are handed all your final files for print and digital and I will guide you through exactly how to use them.
